THE BLUE NOTE QUINTET includes some of the top musicians working in the south and south west and plays the exciting, foot-tapping music of the era when Art Blakey and Miles Davis played to large audiences in jazz clubs worldwide. The legendary Blue Note label recorded some of the leading figures in the period. The quintet led by trumpeter Andy Urquhart and Saxophonist Terry Quinney, play this swinging music that has delighted audiences, including a sell-out concert at Ilminster. For this gig they are joined by Dave O’Higgins, one of the top saxophonists on the British and European scene. He leads his own very successful quartet, as well as starring in Darius Brubeck’s quartet.
