Swanage Volunteer Bureau
Give a Little, Gain a Lot
Would you like to make a difference, use existing or learn fresh skills, meet new people, have fun and be proud to know that you have helped keep Swanage great?
Now open every Friday, from 10.30 – 12.30 at Swanage Library, where you will find a Volunteer Champion who has details of about 25 organisations with over 60 volunteering opportunities.
Local organisations, who need volunteers, have joined together to bring all their volunteering opportunities into one place.
From one-off to regular opportunities
We are pleased to announce that a new initiative has been set up to promote volunteering opportunities in Swanage that was launched at Swanage Library on 11th May 2017 from 10m to 1pm and opened by the Deputy Mayor of Swanage Town Council.
The Swanage Volunteer Bureau aims to increase the number of volunteers in Swanage by providing a weekly, friendly face to face drop-in session at Swanage Library every Friday from 19th May 10.30-12.30. Please pop in to have a chat with our Volunteer Champions to find out about the volunteering opportunities.
This initiative has been set up following an open meeting of volunteer experts and local organisations who then formed a SVB Steering Group that includes; Swanage & Purbeck Development Trust SPDT, Volunteer Centre Dorset, Swanage Library, Swanage Town Council, Swanage Railway and POPP. It will come under the SPDT umbrella. This is intended to be a free service to both organisations and volunteers that will complement Volunteering Community Dorset systems and local organisations volunteering strategies.
