Our Vision
We want to create a connected community which recognises the importance of working together to achieve the best outcomes for local people, while meeting current and future challenges. The connections come from collaborations between local voluntary organisations, schools, businesses and statutory and local authorities. The principal outcomes are targeted at providing a preventive safety net for the most vulnerable while building the best opportunities for healthy and productive lifestyles from the very young through to the older generation.
We aim to:
Create opportunities for everyone to live well by working together to achieve the best outcomes for local people. By bringing together community groups, professional organisations, and individuals, collaboration is fostered and people are helped to turn their thoughts and ideas into reality.
Create a network of spaces and places – sustainable community buildings, where individuals and groups can meet, collaborate, and access support. Clear signposting between these hubs will makes it easy for residents to find the help and opportunities they need.
Build a network of organisations, creating opportunities for collaboration, idea-sharing, and joint action.
Develop a network of people, supporting individuals to connect, volunteer, and build new initiatives that benefit the whole community. By nurturing emerging organisations and supporting them toward independence, we empower local people to lead change.
By encouraging open communication, active listening, and strong local networks, community assets will be mapped, needs identified, and new opportunities created — helping Swanage and surrounding areas to grow stronger, more connected, and more vibrant.
